Pixies is a soundboard recording and is pretty damn great, I can't vouch for the quality of the Radiohead one but it's an audience recording apparently.

Thank you, my darlink

The Pixies' Tribute to John Cage at Coachella

Check the concert downloads (Concert du mois--->Non-Radiohead).

Can anyone tell me how the heck to re-format/convert the file types from .jpg's to .mp3's? I have XP and am sort of stuck in a rut here.

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Sunday, 16 May 2004 14:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, anyone care to troubleshoot?

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Sunday, 16 May 2004 14:39 (twenty-two years ago)

I think you can just right click on the file and rename it (manually change the extension from ".jpg" to ".mp3"). I'm trying that - I'll see how it works. Plz hold.

*GIRL FROM IPANEMA*

Yep, it works.

David R. (popshots75`), Sunday, 16 May 2004 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I think those are mp3's, but just renamed (if I am translating the caption properly).
(xpost - yep)

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 16 May 2004 14:47 (twenty-two years ago)

That doesn't work for me. Are you using XP? I've already checked several help pages on the Web, and apparently it's not possible, unless one has a converter. WTF?! Whenever I change the file type/extension, the name changes, but the association remains the same.

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Works for me (I use XP). Be sure to add the ".mp3" extension to the filename itself and change the file type from "JPEG image" to "All Files."

Right Click >> Save Link Target As >> add .mp3 after the file name >> Save >> Rock

When it starts downloading it'll tell you you're downloading a jpeg but it should be the mp3.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

The truth is, Francis, you'll have to blow a wizard in order to have any chance of getting this to work.

Plaster Penguin, Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh poo. I'm a dumbass, guys. I saved them all as .jpg's before I downloaded them. It took me all morning! Probably gonna have to do it all over again. :(

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I miss those more innocent times of MS-DOS.

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Sunday, 16 May 2004 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I had the same problem. The trouble is, you're hiding the file extensions of "commonly used types". Control Panel>Appearances & Themes>Folder Options. Uncheck the box with 'hide extensions', Apply and you should be able to change it.

Another source for the Radiohead set. I think this one is better than the .fr one, encoded at 256kbit and seems to have more low-end.
Scroll down for the surprise Beck set as well.

Hooray! I don't think I've ever been "the man" before!

Or made love to by a bloke's dexterous tongue either.
