stockholm cindy -- will it sound like the same band from midnight cowboy?

mine is on pre-order on amazon!

well, am unsure if you should be 'excited' because i'm unsure if it is the same warholian v.u. drone band with the space debutante on vocals -- like the band from midnight cowboy.

They sound like a more bohemian (less hippy-dippy) Jefferson Airplane, and there's a big flashy horn section. Good-to-great songs, but the arrangements are the best thing.

woah sweet. i love 'old man willow', is the rest of the reissue any good?

chris andrews (fraew), Monday, 17 May 2004 20:49 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
not what i was expecting when i picked it up (thought it was gonna be soft pop, not orchestrated psych rock - emphasis on the rock). sometimes a bit too silly/fugsy for me, but has a couple of great tracks. it was only 5$, so i'm not really complaining.

I really like the stuff they did with Yoko Ono. I'd probably get it if I saw it for a couple bucks.

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 30 June 2005 20:43 (twenty years ago)

why don't bands sound like this anymore?

the underground homme (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 30 June 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

because no one knows how to play guitar these days.

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 30 June 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

shakey, currently listening to the Junie Morrison disc you gave me. someone on there sure knows how to play guitar.

The Amazing Jaxon! (jaxon), Thursday, 30 June 2005 21:44 (twenty years ago)

I don't think I gave you any Junie, you mean the Fuzzy Haskins...? (besides, I was referring to current bands, that record's 30+ years old)

Shakey Mo Collier, Thursday, 30 June 2005 22:02 (twenty years ago)

oh right, fuzzy. shit, i should get me some Junie (that fucker wrote The Funky Worm).

who cares if people can play guitar these days? i heard they all sold them and bought turntables.

The Amazing Jaxon! (jaxon), Thursday, 30 June 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

they sold their turntables and bought ipods.
