is a Stones Throw comp I am enjoying right now. Who knew there was old school connecticut hip hop? (not me)

Best track = Pookey Blow, a 12 year old kid doing "Get Up (and Go to School)" whee he implores us to keep on learnin' and eat our oatmeal, complete w/kazoo solo! There is also a track called "2001 Kazoo's". Classic, of course.

I forgot how great old school hip-hop is for a minute. Wow, really good. Yes, yes, y'all, all that jazz. I am aboard the funk train indeed.

C'mon people, there is a ventriloquist rap!

Chuck E has it and says it's pretty great.

Yeah...it's pretty classic. It's funny how Connecticut hip hop was like 2 years behind what NYC was doing at the time. I'll agree about the Pookey track.

my faves are the Outlaw Four's “Million Dollar Legs” and the Chillie 3 MCs' “Shake Your Boody” (not a typo).

yeah, "Million Dollar Legs" was def. a standout. If anyone knows anything about it or its origins plz contact Stones Throw, thx.

This is actually an amazing compilation. Disco breaks galore!! The ventriloquist-rap is extremely funny, especially if you imagine that Eazy-E is doing the rapping.

Skinny Boys were from Bridgeport (I think), and used to get played on the NYC mix shows quite a bit.
