Song ID - 80's club hit

This song was played pretty often in clubs in the mid-80s .. I just thought of it today though, and it struck me that I don't think I ever knew who it was or what it was called. (or maybe I did and completely forgot.)

It's not a particularly great song either .. just one I can't seem to fully remember.

It has similar sound to Blue Monday (I think) .. and NO, it's not The Beach, Einstein. I don't remember it having any words or much else besides the bassline & some filler. (but my memory is fuzzy.)

Here's the best I can remember .. synth used for bassline:

mmm BOW mmm BOWBOW
mmm BOW mmm BOWBOW
mmm BOW mmm BOWBOW
..ad infinitum ..

that's all I can remember... the "mmm"s were on the upbeat and the "BOW"s were on the beat (except for the last one, which was on the upbeat.) I don't know how to represent that in musical notation .. but 4/4 time, "BOW"s on the 1 and 2 ..

Nope.. Forgot to mention .. it's not that either.. Good guess though. That is what it sounds like I'm describing.

The synth/bass thing sounds kinda like someone burping, if that helps in any way.

There was another one that went "Vibrationnnnn Vibrationnnnn Vibrationnnnn Vibrationnnnn" from around 1989/1990

Dave, I totally know the song you're thinking of. I can hear it in my head. But I don't know what it is! Will think about it more...

dave225 (Dave225), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 18 May 2004 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

MINISTRY? The same Ministry of NWO and "Just one fix"? I never would have imagined could sound like New Order.

daavid (daavid), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 00:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha, in that case I urge you to seek out their tune "Revenge" (which makes New Order sound like "New World Order").

Sean Thomas (sgthomas), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 00:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Early- and mid-period Ministry COMPLETELY KICKS THE ASS of the Ministry that everyone knows about.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 00:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan OTM (with the possible exception of that Cold Life EP, which never did it for me even as a sullen youth).

Sean Thomas (sgthomas), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 01:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Such beautiful wrongness, Dan.
You did it again
You did it again
You did it again and again

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 01:30 (twenty-two years ago)
