well maybe...sort of.

chances are mark gardener's playing the same day as ex songwriting partner andy bell (who's with oasis obv). at gigs lately he's been doing ride tunes and new stuff. it could go either way i guess...

anyone sen him live since the ride days?

the DAYTRIPPER gig of 1993 was a life highlight.
i'm sure i'm not the only one.

maybe they could play with morrissey, mission of burma, kraftwerk and the pixies, on the chicken in a basket circuit (aka, the festival and indie venue circuit)

I caught the Mark Gardener stateside solo tour about 7 months ago and holy god was it ever terrible. I never released how cheesy the lyrics were until I heard the ride songs played on an acoustic, without all the swirling instrumentation.

oh it's ...*an accoustic* tour?!!!

oh gracious.

Don't know about the current tour, but when I saw him he played about half the show solo acoustic, then had the opening band (Goldrush) come out to back him on "Vapour Trails," "Dreams Burn Down," and one or two new songs.

Ride without the torrent of swirly electric guitar fallout = a very bad idea indeed.

It's going to be a Mark Gardener + Goldrush backed set at Glastonbury.

and i just wished they would want to have a string quartet backed Vapourtrail, and ask me to play again. but on my performance last year, that's highly unlikely.
