I felt a little queasy once at a Tindersticks gig after a few too many beers, but I was OK.

I always save my throwing up for the parking lot.

First & Last time throwing up at a show:

Funk Face @ Wetlands Bathroom, NYC 1991

ddb, Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I did this Saturday. Some friends' bands were playing in Indianapolis. I was really drunk, they say.

Sonny A. (Keiko), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Barely made it through the Lifter Puller show last June or July.

Dammit, I thought this was gonna be a picture thread.

There is no time or place for this, since I am inevitably the one that gets thrown up on.

This may be permissable at a Fugazi show, though.

dieblucasdie (dieblucasdie), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow. That's truly, truly terrifying (the photo, I mean).

I believe the only live performance I ever threw up at was some shitty reggae band at late, lamented Wetland's Preserve down in TriBeCa. As much as I'd like to blame it on the band, I believe the reason for the chundering was too many shots of whatever toxic beverage my friend Tim kept handing me.

Alex,
that's where i threw up...I'd say it's the venue...fucking hippie dive with a VW bus parked inside. URGH!

Good Riddance to that shithole.

ddb, Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought I was going to throw up on stage at Terrastock.

I encourage people to throw up and pass out at The SB shows.

Russ, Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

As a very young teenager, I threw up on someone's shoes during The Orb at Glastonbury. I think I told that story elsewhere. These days I am much more refined.

Hahaha....that a fact? Maybe it's something they serreptiously put in the alcohol. Yeah, I hated the place's aesthetic (faux-hippy shinola), but saw some decent bands there of the decidedly non-hippy variety.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I never threw up at Wetlands, but then again I think I only saw one show there (The Sea and Cake, Jessamine, Laika (maybe?) at CMJ one year?).

QUOTATIONS FROM THE HOLLAND TUNNEL (hstencil), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

come to think of it, I don't think I've ever puked at a show, which seems uncharacteristic for me.

QUOTATIONS FROM AN UPCHUCKER (hstencil), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

the first show that I saw in NYC was at Wetlands, in '92: God Is My Co-Pilot and Elliott Sharp/Carbon

I also got dragged to see Thousand Yard Stare there...

Russ, Wednesday, 19 May 2004 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh come on, refinement and public heaving aren't mutually exclusive, are they? ARE THEY?

Sonny A. (Keiko), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I puked onstage once. There were only 7 people in the audience.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:05 (twenty-two years ago)

i had a friend puke onstage while playing the trumpet.

dyson (dyson), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:22 (twenty-two years ago)

dyson wins.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

mrs JaXoN if-you're-nasty and i both threw up at a show where we made bud brownies WAY too strong

JaXoN (JasonD), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Unless someone knows a Siberian throat singer who has fallen victim to such a scenario mid-performance.

(x-post)

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

His N Hers synchronized upchucking = super-twee

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I did manage to get a little of my spew on the microphone. Which belonged to the venue and not me. And we were the opening act.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:34 (twenty-two years ago)

funk face?

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

ha!

I knew somebody would call me out on that...god bless you Miss Lauren!!!

ddb, Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

i have the worst track record. i've been sick in almost every venue in the metro area.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:50 (twenty-two years ago)

(if i had thrown up at a show in 1991 it would have been the mighty lemon drops or somesuch so i have no room to talk.)

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

on myself/Afghan Whigs/"Black Love" tour/during "Mr. Vain". Fuck

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 18:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I came close to puking at a COSTES show!

24 hours with the King of Snake. (SNAKE!) (ex machina), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I was certainly nauseous (sp?) at a Skinny Puppy show based on all the vivisection vids they were showing, but liquid laugh I did not.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

or has anyone been thankful that they did throw-up and pass out after hearing the awful experience their friends went through?

cs appleby (cs appleby), Friday, 21 May 2004 03:50 (twenty-two years ago)

on one of the first dates i went on with my ex, she threw up at arab on radar/pink & brown/usaisamonster/flying luttenbachers/x27 at the dirt palace. *TOO MUCH TEQUILA*

i have never puked at a show! and, as far as i know, jon williams hasn't either. he threw up on new year's a few years ago though.
