Hi,
my name is Marco and I'm from Padova, Italy. Ned Raggett kindly told me to join ILM, so here I am.
I'm the average music obsessed, I work for a cd/dvd wholesaler and I try also to run a microlabel called Sillyboy. I'm also the so-called manager of this young band called Jennifer Gentle.
Favourite artists/records: Beatles,VelvetUnderground,Can,Prince,Funkadelic,Zombies,Beach Boys,the Cure,Faust,Godz,Captain Beefheart,Exuma,Dr John,Spacemen 3,Joy Division,James Brown,Sun Ra,Franco Battiato,Serge Gainsbourg,Scott Walker,Nuggets/Pebbles boxes,Kraftwerk,ESG,Sparks,Giorgio Moroder,David Bowie and zillion others. Jennifer Gentle basically are two boys from Padova and a cast of friends. They play a kind of eccentric psychedelic pop, surely '60's influenced but in my opinion with enough personality to justify itself.
They recorded two studio albums plus a really loud live one featuring mr Kawabata from Acid Mothers Temple. Now they have been signed by Sub Pop - a rather unconventional event in the life of an Italian band, especially considering that here in Italy almost nobody cares about them. :)
