Detachment Kit: should I have bought the album?

The Detachment Kit rolled through town last night, and I was kinda feelin' their frantic, manic, skinny, indie-rock jumpiness. They had two albums on the merch table, including this new one called "Of This Blood". It was late, and I was tired and a little short, so I didn't pick one up, but felt non-buyer's remorse when I got home. Should I have?

no!! unless you thought they were cute?

Well, they'd have to be PRETTY DAMN DUTE, so no.

Cute! I meant cute. Actually, they were kind of dute.

subconsciously why you wanted to buy the album? i knew it.

They seemed like the types who THINK they're cute (not a bad thing, IMO). The guitar player shouted "THANK YOU PLEASE!" to all applause, and the singer discussed his pnats & haircut at length. Maybe that's what "dute" is -- you think you're cute, but you're just a dude, dude.

"Dude, your pnats are really dute."

i really liked the first one, "They Raging Quiet Army", because it was all energetic and all over the place... like look, we're going to lull you into this fall sense of expecting another crappy emo band - then WHAM! get all Les Savy Fav on your ass. and throw a little neo-prog sounding shit into the mix too. i picked "Of This Blood" today, but i haven't gotten around to listening to it yet.

The show was energetic and all-over-the-place, too. Didn't get much neo-prog out of it, but Les Savy Fav - yeah.

yeah, you probably should've bought it
