...and it's kinda brilliant.

Actually, on second thought, no it's not. It's kinda tragic.

Haven't seen it yet. Describe more? Let me guess..."The Search Is Over"?

Joe (Joe), Saturday, 22 May 2004 14:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Eye of the Tiger. I've only seen it once, so I wasn't sure if it was really Survivor. If memory serves, they keep showing up in odd places during some guy's work day (on the sidewalk, in the elevator).

Alex is right, it's tragic.

ROY! ROY ROY ROY!

Yeah I wasn't sure if it was Survivor either. It's hard to read what's written on the bass drum.

These guys have always been tragic.

survivor SO OBVIOUSLY wanted to be loverboy ... dunno whether that counts as "tragic" or merely "sad."

haven't seen this commercial, sorry.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Sunday, 23 May 2004 15:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, the vocalist in the commercial is the second vocalist of Survivor (the brunette who sang "Search is Over"), and not the dude that sang "Eye of the Tiger" (who always wore a beret). I remember some VH1 "where are they now" thing where the guitarist had reunited with the beret guy (who was very obviously wearing a wig) and they were playing a cringe-enducing "acoustic blues" version of "Eye of the Tiger".

THAT was tragic.

I once went for a job interview in a hotel room (don't ask). They had a brochure (a binder really) with photos and souvenirs showing the places you would travel to with the job. Among the souvenirs was an autographed CD tray liner from Survivor.
