The opening cut on the live Transmissions from Uranus is easily the best thing they ever did.

Are they over?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 23 May 2004 18:40 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, I think so, it's been a good 3 years since they released anything, and their website hasn't been updated in a while.

I must've seen these years ago live but I can't remember them - I remember meeting them (when not knowing who the hell they were) as I was trying to get backstage to see some NME coverband of the week or something - really nice people, and didn't seem arsey at all!

venus - great cover of the "rezillos" !!!
i think they sounded a lot like gbv there, but it was before them if i recall correctly.
"experiment zero" is the best they did with the albini "touch and go" style production.
but theres not much to say about them as a band, as good as they are.

We have some truly great station ID's that they did for us. Nice, funny guys.

sleeve (sleeve), Monday, 27 February 2006 18:07 (twenty years ago)

plus, while listening to them, i always wish they had less instrumental songs and more singing:the singer is great, the songs are fine, if they did more of such, they might be more popular.
on the other hand, maybe they didnt want to.

we were talking about these last night.

well, i was talking about them, to blank faces

terry lennox. (gareth), Monday, 27 February 2006 18:35 (twenty years ago)

i always wish they had less instrumental songs and more singing

They had singing on all their songs but they only occasionally lowered their voices to frequencies humans can hear.

Great band, absolutely amazing live. Was listening to Darkspace just this afternoon and thinking this is kind of like the black metal Man or Astroman.

Checked their website: "tourdates [updated 04.05.2002] - Man or Astro-man? is not currently touring." Bah!

Soukesian, Thursday, 28 May 2009 18:52 (seventeen years ago)

My first tour with my own band was supporting MOA? for a week. Amazing experience. Just the nicest must supportive people and an incredible live band.

Nate Carson, Thursday, 28 May 2009 20:56 (seventeen years ago)

what are they up to these days-post break up?

Zeno, Thursday, 28 May 2009 20:58 (seventeen years ago)

Coco was doing something with converting diesel cars to run on biodiesel, but that was several years ago.

Carroll Shelby Downard (Elvis Telecom), Thursday, 28 May 2009 22:31 (seventeen years ago)

Brian Teasley the drummer (aka Birdstuff) plays with Polyphonic Spree and St Vincent and books shows in Birmingham, AL. He's the only one I've really kept up with.

MOA? did play that Touch & Go fest in Chicago not too long ago.

I think Coco is still running Zero Return studio in Atlanta, unless I'm mistaken.

Nate Carson, Friday, 29 May 2009 09:51 (seventeen years ago)

Isn't one of them in Pilot Scott Tracy? Maybe the same one that was in Causey Way but they broke up ages ago.

Colonel Poo, Friday, 29 May 2009 10:03 (seventeen years ago)

I think some of them had a thing called Servotron for a while?
