this song actually successfully compensated for my grumpiness at having paid for another issue of the wire, which was good

corn is one of the records that went to the calling out of context comp, i believe: i mean, i think it sez somewhere this is a "wire exclusive"

'Private Number' by William Bell and Judy Clay always seems a strange song to me. The disparity between the subject of the song (a simple misunderstanding over a changed phone number, quickly rectified) and the emotion with which it's sung is puzzling.
