All this made it very easy to utterly ignore the Puff Daddy/B.I.G. stuff that ruled the charts the entire year. It was a year before I even heard "Mmm-Bop."

Wow, "Setting Sun" was a moment of greatness in alt-rock crap!

'Richard III' - wherein Supergrass squish Muse's entire 'oeuvre' in about two and a half minutes. Gawjis.

2000 - 2001 was the most inane period in the last 25 years of pop music, without a doubt.

97 and 98 were both fantastic years.

Kristine Blond - "Love Shy" sprang immediately to mind, along with the rest of Speed Garage and the beginnings of 2step.

You could easily make a best singles ever comp using only 2-step without the end result seeming too wrongheaded.
