I am huge Kool Kieth fan, but when i bought Mathew a year or so ago it really sucked, I felt sad for him, and it tarnished my love for the man.

if your favorite artist is kool keith, prepare for disappointment, be thick-skinned. maybe in a couple records he'll do something good again.

no, I just don't buy their crap no more.

When I used to have infatuations with particular artists, I found there was a middle ground where I'd buy the first sub-par release or two, try to justify to myself that they were still good, then end up never listening to them again cos they were, in fact, cock.

See also that thread about artists who screw up so badly that you can't bring yourself to listen to their good stuff any more.

Listening to the newest Descendents album bummed me out a little - the sub-Bad Religion politics, Epitaphy skate-punk production, etc..

But if they come out with another album, I'm sure I'll buy it again.

I remember feeling very depressed when Devo released Shout.

The new Jimi Tenor record cut me to the bone.

I think it's great. I get to look for a new current favorite artist. Yay me!

It depends if they then go and make a blinding follow-up record.

I was crestfallen when Killing Joke birthed Outside the Gate on a world that sorely deserved better. But, they rebounded with Extremities, so all was right with the world again.

I never thought I'd see "crestfallen" and "Killing Joke" used together in a sentence.

I do have to say that David Gahan's solo record wasn't the best thing I've ever heard.

I was a pretty sad Lou Reed fan throughout most of the 80s.
