I'm listening to a compile of early Alan Oldham/T-1000 / Passarani/Monteduro/Woody McBride etc Generator material and yay it rocks so hard, so minimal, funky, warm, slamming, modernist. Age has not wearied it. Who's with me???? Oh COME on!!! Who's with me then?????

Ah. I see.

This shall be a one man party then. I have my streamers and party hat on. I would like to announce, to no-one, that Alan Oldham is the great unsung hero of Detroit techno. And Marco Passarani is no slouch either.

Mully! Mate!!!!

This thread will continue for as long as it entertains me. And that could be some time, for I am both obsessive and stubborn. 'You don't know when to stop'. That's what they used to tell me at school. This is why I like Alan Oldham's techno so much, perhaps. It is the groove that does not know when to stop. It has a butt shake that won't quit.

Hahahaha sorry. Of course I will. In exchange for early Burzum.

one day you will come to my house and see my collection and think:

"hmmm...second hand shops of the 90's had some semi decent techno there."

burzum? i only have philosofum (sp?)

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

filosofem - isn't that where he started going new age on our arses? Wots it like? I hear mixed reports.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:08 (twenty-two years ago)

first side=greatest record ever made.
second side = pants.

swapsies?

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Well OK then. I hope you don't get me hooked on Burzum. I hate buying records made by anti-semites.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:15 (twenty-two years ago)

tough call. i kinda heard burzum through or*n amb*rchi.

mullygrubber (gaz), Friday, 4 June 2004 09:19 (twenty-two years ago)

That's ironic. Or is it? I just don't know any more.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 4 June 2004 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the woody mcbride stuff on communique has the edge on the generator material.

but if you could include his track "fresh air" (off the dj esp album) that'd be fantastic, thanks.
