There hasn't been a thread about how fucking grebt noise weirdos / no-wave goons / jazz mentalists PENGO are. This is that thread.

Read this Blastitude interview: http://www.blastitude.com/17/PENGO.htm

Unfortunately, I missed much of their early shows which featured Black Sabbath and Metal Machine Music cover shows, among other themes.

Anyway, A Nervous Splendor and Climbs the Holy Mountain are fucking great jazz/noise/weird records, listen to them here: http://www.carbonrecords.com/songs/songs.html There's some interesting reviews of them if you google around.

Also, tell me about live experiences, noise dudes.

pengo archived the noise scene on the internet via video (and also audio)... I remember watching ashcroft, bloodface, wolf eyes, nautical almanac, and older lake of dracula mpegs a few years ago. from first hand experience at NFF it seems like the one guy is pretty into the documenting aspect (ie, incessant filming/camera work).

Pengo also documents the Rochester mixed drink scene. THEY DRINK WHITE RUSSIANS

Yessir, great band. I've only heard 'Climbs the Holy Mountain,' but it is major noisefreak goodness.
