AMG 3.5 and 4 star ratings

Remember how AMG used to hardly ever display 3.5 star ratings? Now it seems they've replaced the 4-star ratings with 3.5 stars, and it's hard to find many 4-star albums anymore.

This may seem less than fascinating, but it did just result in a whole bunch of records being downgraded for no apparent reason.

They didn't even have a GRAPHIC for 3.5-star ratings before! Time to investigate...

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 16 June 2004 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

It appears that they don't have 1-star albums anymore; they're all 1.5. They must have bumped everything below 4 stars up .5.

They bumped Alien Lanes up from a *** to a ****. I can't find a single album that was **** prior to the change that has kept the same rating

How do you people remember how many stars a particular album had?

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Wednesday, 16 June 2004 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, I see 2- and 3-star albums that have maintained their ratings. wtf mate?

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 16 June 2004 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

hmmm, Alien Lanes has changed back to 3...

We like to spend our time worrying about unimportant shit like this instead of how our idiot president and his sideshow of destruction will lead to a premature armageddon.

King Kobra (King Kobra), Wednesday, 16 June 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

premature armageddon

definitely over-rated

nothingleft (nothingleft), Wednesday, 16 June 2004 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, armageddon is overrated.

You need either

a) a hobby
b) a girlfriend / boyfriend
c) to get over the fact that Pitchfork is not the axis upon which the world turns

(noticed this while looking at capone n noreaga's amg page tonite - war report now = 3.5)

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 16 June 2004 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Why does AMG have no 3.5 stars?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 16 June 2004 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

their ratings are confusing.

Also, AMG finally realised that R&B is a genre! wacky!

Deadringer got a downgrade. :(

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Thursday, 17 June 2004 04:34 (twenty-two years ago)

Looks like it's back to the way it used to be, because all those albums are now 4 stars. See, ILM really can make a difference!

dleone (dleone), Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:05 (twenty-two years ago)

:D

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Thursday, 17 June 2004 20:46 (twenty-two years ago)

why dont they have a random star system, then maybe all those String Cheese Incident albums could have 1 and 2 star ratings

mentalist (mentalist), Thursday, 17 June 2004 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

on another note, they rated albums by the Doors 4 stars from 3 stars when the wierd thing was happening.

Now all those specific ones are rated 3.5

AMG, you are so wacky!
