David Bowie's Eye (not the lollipop incident)

As I was reading up on the mysterious origins of David Bowie's permanently dilated eye, I came across a variety of stories on what happened. The basics are the same in all of them-- that Bowie and a guy named George Underwood got in a schoolyard brawl over a girl-- but then the stories start to differ:

1) a fansite says that he suffered a "blow to the eye" (with a fist)
2) BBC's site, states that he was stabbed in the eye with a compass. (ouch)
3) another fansite states that that a ring on the attacker's hand caused the damage
4) yet another site states that the strain from the fight resulted in a "nerve exploding" in bowie's eye.
5) my own research suggests that a lollipop from the future somehow passed through a rip in the fabric of the space-time continuum, piercing his eye 42 years ago, but the actual event was not visible in temporal reality until the show in Oslo, Norway.
