Brian Chippendale is such a better drummer than the dude from Hella. Go back to Club Bang!

dean, i'm with you on this one

cutty (mcutt), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't get me wrong. I like Brian Chippendale but his playing style is all slop. Zach is disgustingly talented. But when I see them tonight, I'll voice your discontent, Jon.

GET A LIFE! (ex machina), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 16:17 (twenty-one years ago)

people, why the hate? We gotta stand strong against the forces of PERPETUA!

CAN YOU DIG IT?!???

Cyrus' plan is to keep up a truce between all street gangs and unite them to take over the city. As he says, there are at least 60,000 assorted gang members and hangers-on, while there are only 20,000 cops. He also says "Can you dig it!?!?!" a lot in this weird sort of offkey way, sort of like the same weird offkey way Hacksaw Jim Duggan chants "USA!" Most of the gangs at the meeting are pretty into the plan, maybe because they see the Gramercy Riffs are powerful enough to have matching silk robes and slippers.

when you google image "The Warriors gang meeting" you get this:

Hella are real fun guys, had an awesome night when they came over to London earlier this year, but they were fucking boring live once you get over how good (how much stamina!) Zach has. The best way I could descibe it is to say that the whole night sounded like the new record, which is bad, I just wanted it to sound like HYHI where they seem to restrain themselves a hell of a lot more and concentrate on making wicked fucked up melodies.
