Here, have some beats. They're on me.

Poppin' Fresh Beats (Jungle Cut)

This is my first stab at actually recording some drum n' bass shit and I'm happy enough with how it turned out to share with ILX. The drums are live, albeit sped up about 20 bpm. The synthery is a bit wack, I know.

Here is a longer version with a New Orleans section and a hip-hop section tacked on in front of the jungle shit. They're much sloppier and sillier, but I just wanted to see how much music I could make on my own.

Yeah, they look like they have much hotter shit. What's that guy have, a keytuba?

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 22:56 (twenty-one years ago)

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:23 (twenty-one years ago)

FUCK! I couldn't dl it. Red X. Will try to figure out. Want to hear.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

(seriously jordan that's some fucking impressive drumming. please lose the synth scratching before you lose the synths)

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually the scratching was me scraping a drumstick on the bottom of my snare drum.

(I know it sounds dorky!)

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Nick, I could just (g)mail it to you if you'd like.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:43 (twenty-one years ago)

YAY! That would be awesome!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:45 (twenty-one years ago)

vahid otm, yr pretty hot dude!

g--ff (gcannon), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:48 (twenty-one years ago)

the other funny thing: on the midpaced one i am assuming the shuffly percussion-loaded bit at the beginning is the "new orleans section" and the bit with the *scratching* at the end is the "hip hop section". just thought i'd point out that post-neptunes post-nelly etc the shuffly second line bit at the beginning sounds like next year's big hip hop hit.

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:51 (twenty-one years ago)

ooh ooh gmail me to! buttch@

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha, thanks dude. That reminds me, I always wished the Neptunes would take it down South a bit more and do another "Bouncin' Back", that's some second-line shit.

(x-post, will do)

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 23:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Gmails have been sent.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 24 June 2004 00:05 (twenty-one years ago)

just listened to the short clip. the drums sound good! very live sounding, but with enough processing to suit my taste. I like that lil stall w/the faint snare roll at the beginning.

oops (Oops), Thursday, 24 June 2004 00:14 (twenty-one years ago)

That sounds alright! Good job.

J-rock (Julien Sandiford), Thursday, 24 June 2004 07:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Gmail me too please! I'll have to track my comp speakers down to hear it, tho.

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 24 June 2004 07:35 (twenty-one years ago)

jordan this gmail thing yeah?

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 24 June 2004 09:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Done. Do you think it would be possible to actually make a keytuba?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 24 June 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Is that a RICKENBACKER keytuba?!

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 24 June 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks J, I'll get back to this when I manage to hear it

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 24 June 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)
