"Elongated Pentagonal Pyramid" is quite beautiful. Sorta microsound circa 2000, but much more exciting than anything released on Ritornell in the cardboard sleeve days--probably because it was self-released originally.
If you can get your hands on it, the void release as part of invalidObjects on Fallt is very pretty.
His most important release however is his software, Argeiphontes Lyre. "When will the Cocoa version be finished and released?", the desperate masses inquire.

Eisoptrophobia is just fucking gorgeous.

The only thing I've heard is 'benediction draw'. Not much happens beyond the pure sound of the revolving chord, it frustrates having your full attention focused on it. But leaving it on in the background while going about your business can lead to some very strange states.

Benediction Draw is very different from his other work and kinda surprised me. It's not bad, but I'm still not sure how much I like it yet. It reminds me of a static version of Rafael Toral's Wave Field.

four months pass...
read a review of "spellewauerynsherde" today (consisting of icelandic prayer hymns run through rabelais's digital music machine processor thingy), i was intrigued. anyone got it? in searching for this thread i saw that forksclovetofu had listed it on a recent purchases thread. is it any good?

I did get it and I do like it but only in an ambient way. Not the sort of thing that I would actively seek out for listening but really pleasant for background or sleeping.
it's default song; music I listen to when I don't want to listen to music.
Reminds me of the Riven soundtrack or if aphex got a hold of the Bulgarian Radio Women's choir and mixed it with Selected Ambient Works.
That's a compliment.
It's also fairly close to what actually happened: they're mixes of (finnish?) folk songs.
Probably the only bummer is the heavy dose of pretention that accompanies the liners and track names(To get a sense of what I mean, see here); but this doesn't spill over into the sound of the music at all.
Very accessible and pretty, just not overwhelming.
I do find myself putting it on at least once every two weeks or so.

is the source recording commercially available?

I heard a mp3 that was lovely right up until the introduction of the processing

it can be dangerous to work with such strong material.

So, for his name he combined the futuristic "Akira" and the 19th century "Rabelais and Pantagruel?" Or do icelandic people typically have 2 first names in Japanese and French?
