i was coming home from the bricklayers arms in shoreditch tonite, and i got the tube, as it was an early finish (though i saw that wiley was playing with grooverider tonite! wish i'd known about that earlier)

anyway, in the tube station there was this busker, and he sounded totally like Durutti Column, with a touch of Roy Montgomery, i think his name was paul sebastien, as he had a couple of cdrs for sale. has anyone been in old st tube recently and heard this guy? i was kind of out of it, so a value judgement might be a step too far, but he sounded pretty cool

there's a guy plays outside the Rock Garden in Covent Garden piazza some weekday lunchtimes who sounds a bit durutti. same guy, maybe?

no, i didnt. i was already kind of wishing i'd taken my camera out, because it was the sort of night that would have photographed well, it had a slight last day of summer feel, with some peopel abuot to mover abroad. but then, he wasn't especially interesting to photograph, and, i found tube photography quite hard, making something look interesting there, or, getting it to look good

three weeks pass...
I heard him last week, waiting for the southbound northern line. It sounded beautiful.
I spoke to him, I was drunk. He had never heard the Durutti Column, but said people kept saying he sounded like them.
