New one from the former Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo alumni. His last 2 solo cds didn't do much for me, but I am really enjoying this one. Guess it means I hated the production on the 2 solo discs since every song (save 2 covers which both kick ass) are from those cds. Anyone else heard it?

I'm digging it as well - certainly more palatable than his studio work, which always struck me as sterile and fettered with clutter (Space Junk I through VI - what was he thinking?) Canyon are a good fit for a backing band as they serve to humanize the sound a bit. Let's face it, Farrar may be a great songwriter, but he's got all the personality of a broken toaster.
