The Gibson Brothers (of "Cuba" fame). Classic or Total Freakin' Classic?

I was down at the library today and this Gibson Brothers CD leapt off the shelf at me. It's a shoddy Greatest Hits affair (track listing on the back doesn't match the contents of the CD) entitled Que Sera Mi Vida (their other big hit, at least as far as I can remember.) Checking AMG, there doesn't seem to be a lot of material available.

Which is preposterous, because this stuff total kills, doesn't it? DOESN'T IT???

Apparently there's a Bluegrass group with the same monicker. I suspect they are not as fantastically life-enhancing as the boys from Martinique, tho.

there's also the Jeffrey Evans/Don Howland group.

fourteen years pass...

Caught the outro of “Que Sera Mi Vida” on the radio at work today (great percussion!) and was reminded how much I loved these guys back in the day. Cuba now reinstated as one of my favourite albums of 1979.

“Ooh What A Life” is their all-time best imo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23dZye0-AyM

TOTP performance.
Beamed-in performance on Italian TV.

(I’m sorry you had to wait for 15 years (minus one day) for a deserving response, noodle vague)

There’s also “Non Stop Dance” from two years earlier, which felt like punk disco at the time and was an obvious inspiration for “Born To Be Alive”.
