everyone go to bleep.com right now and download LFO's own remix of "what is house" off WAP17, the "what is house" ep.
it is astoundingly spacious.

unfortunately i don't think sheath quite lives up to advance. also i could say the same about moby's career post-"tan ta ra" remix.

sheath is a bit boring, though it has some really great tracks.

i want to believe there's a massive bleep underground archive on the order of all the hardcore that's been rediscovered since 95, or the millions of dancemania/ghetto house records waiting to be discovered, but i just don't think there is. i wonder if bleep is a case of a few very high-profile acts making a big impact on a scene. and then future generations who weren't there at the time sort of hallucinate this big underground scene that didn't really happen!
though sometimes i think early-to-mid LFO and all the first twenty warp singles are good enough on their own to make up for it.
ps - congrats on getting into the wire, jess!! (first time, right?)
