It's a woman? I heard it as a 90s version of Marvin or Otis! Lemme listen again... oh right, the low notes give her away.

But there's the problem. Put this up against "I've Been Loving You Too Long" (and why not?) and it's no contest.

it's Dayna Kurtz, who you can catch for free during the week at The Living Room on the Lower East Side. I think this stuff works much better if you're in the same room with her. A little disappointed this didn't get any more discussion but I'm not too surprised I guess.
