Why?

Do I feel the need, at the moment, to know about music, but barely listen to any? Maybe this is envy, I think I'm slightly out of touch. Maybe it's me gently reversing from previous indiekidness when I knew about semi-obscure things (actually that's a good thing). Is this how taste develops? I guess I'm just looking for something to grab me.

Is there really no thread for Yoni Wolf's band? Can this be it?

Yes. Saw them last night at the recently reopened Garage in Highbury where they were let down by the godawful sound system. No excuse for that when a lot of money has clearly been invested in redundant fucking flatscreens and swanky tills.

Great set all told, though I wouldn't have minded if he'd decided to play some new stuff.

twelve years pass...

obviously can't find the thread for WHY?.. but just found these little videos from their 'alopecia' sessions and kinda floored that it was all tracked to tape with a band in real time?! totally presumed it would have been samplers everywhere and a pro tools job. doubly impressive

Listened to everything up to about Eskimo Snow the other week and fuck me, Sanddollars through Alopecia (inclusive) is a stunning run of brilliantly catchy indie pop.
