Wow, Alex used the word 'Killing' without it being followed by 'Joke'.
Kidding.

I like Motorhead's R.A.M.O.N.E.S better than any single Ramones song. Same goes for the Replacements' Alex Chilton.

Jack DeJohnette: "Papa-Daddy and Me". The "papa-daddy" is Roy Haynes, who also plays drums on this tune (DeJohnette plays the melodica).
Thelonious Monk: "In Walked Bud". This is about Bud Powell; though curiously enough, in the vocal version of the song, the way Jon Hendricks pronounces "Bud" sounds more like "Bird". I'm not sure if this intentional.
Alice Cotrane: "Something About John Coltrane". You can figure it out to whom this is a tribute.
All three great songs, btw.

Add to the above Miles Davis' numerous songs whose titles are musicians' names (John McLaughlin, Billy Preston, Mtume, Willie Nelson).

John Lennon wrote him a song about this guy Paul. Same band, though so I don't know if it counts.
