I find it very odd to have sex to music I really love. Is this weird?

Jimmybommy JimmyK'KANG (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

i cant do it either. its distracting.

dickvandyke (dickvandyke), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

If i was having sex to something I hated with a passion it would ruin the whole experience. I've I had to fuck to Eminem I would rather shoot myselff in the head.

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuck slowly and pay attention to both and it's pretty great

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

once, and it was wonderful.

is it cheesy to make love while al green records play in the background? was once told it was, but my that's a wonderful soundtrack.

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

radioheads creep is good. makes it seem intense like the last shag ever.

dickvandyke (dickvandyke), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 12:56 (twenty-one years ago)

The only time I've done this was to Mednelsohn's violin concerto in e minor, and it was amazing.

Radioactive Man's Fabric mix is good for this. Wait for Imatran Voima to come on and it's like "Woah!"

I had sex to D'Angelo's Voodoo at the weekend, and, frankly, it was excellent, although that may have been down to the bottle of champagne too.

Jimmybommy JimmyK'KANG (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't do anything to music except listen. But I'd be willing to try and try again.

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait it prob makes a BIG diff if they're into it too or not, right?

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

into the sex¿ usually.
i'd recommend lovage¡

dyson (dyson), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Goldie's "Inner City Life" (the twenty-plus minute album version) was great on repeat back when I was in college. My girlfriend at the time thought it made things nicely intense. Ditto the first Olive (remember them?) record.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Sex to Galaxie 500 is kind of nice. Long, slow, drawn-out and creamy.

hobart paving (hobart paving), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Good music almost never detracts from any experience. And I say all the cliche music is good for sex if it's music you like (Al Green, Moon Safari). Whatever you're both in the mood for.

JC-L (JC-L), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 13:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Roxy Music iTunes playlist, all the favorite songs minus stuff like the Bob, set on shuffle.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Sex is always better with Dusty in Memphis playing in the background.

Joseph McCombs, Wednesday, 18 August 2004 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

TEDDY P

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Had sex once to Gang of Four's Entertainment!, a favorite of both of ours. Excellent.

"your kiss so sweat...your sweat so sour, sometimes I'm thinking that I love you...but I know it's only lust"

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Thinking after reading the ILE "out on the pull thread" ...
... I think there are two types of women in the world: those who will have sex to Autechre, and those who will not.
I've had spats with people over this (I mentioned this on another thread a few months ago). They don't have to *like* Autechre -- I think having sex to music you really like is a bonus, not a requirement. Therefore, if one person likes having the music in the background, and the other person doesn't mind it, and doesn't get distracted from the task at hand, then that's all you need (as a minimum requirement).

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 18 August 2004 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

the rolling stones to thread, fer me.

How about having fantastic sex to music you hate? I don't really like Depeche Mode but they're fantastic to fuck to. As are Portishead.

"I can't fuck to Peaches"

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 19 August 2004 00:46 (twenty-one years ago)

The thought of fucking to Roxy Music makes me cringe. Too...plastic, maybe? It's like having sex with an attractive, life-size doll.

Atnevon (Atnevon), Thursday, 19 August 2004 02:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I've had sex to The Smiths' Meat is Murder. Gives new meaning to the song "How Soon Is Now?"

Muzik Elf, Thursday, 19 August 2004 02:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Mogwai's 'Young Team' owns this thread.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Thursday, 19 August 2004 03:06 (twenty-one years ago)

er, as in "in every dream home a heaven"?

it really depends on the music. i don't really find myself listening too intently anyway, and if the sex is good anything sounds good enough.

amateur!!!st (amateurist), Thursday, 19 August 2004 03:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't even read and listen to music at the same time.

I can walk or drive a car with music on, but those are such passive actions. I used to fuck to Mazzy Star when I was younger, but my fucking was much more passive back then as well.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Thursday, 19 August 2004 04:13 (twenty-one years ago)

er "in every dream home a heartache" right? i mean.

Had a wonderful night to Ambient 2 on repeat many years ago. It was kind of cool. Would forget music was on and then realize it again later.

Kind of ruined the album for me, though. It was a great emotional attachment before. Now it's a bit more, umm... regretful?

I guess thats the risk you take. If you end up reverse-associating the song with a then-wonderful moment, and later things go sour, the association comes back to kick you in the ass.

I guess I should only do it to Cheap Trick now, since nothing can take away my love for the Trick.

Marvin Gaye - Lets Get It On
Maxwell - Urban Hang Suite
Teddy P. - Teddy
Jeff Buckley - Grace

I remember reading an article in Playboy around 1993 about sensual albums. They had listed Pearl Jams "Ten" as one of them. I had to attend a pre-college summer school thing for the college I was off to in September. I met a girl named Molly we fucked like crazy to this album. It was great. To hear it today while doing it I would probably puke. Also it doesn't help that mid fuck one night there was a knock at the door...person kept knocking. Eventually I got annoyed got up with an erection and a condom on and answered the door. Standing there was this dork Steve Quadrozzi standing there. "Whats up? Is that Pearl Jam? What are you doing?" I slammed the door in his face.

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Thursday, 19 August 2004 10:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm glad some had a nice experience with "Ten". Not I. *shudders* I lost my virginity to "Ten" by Pearl Jam - repeat play. While I wanted nothing more than for the guy to come, he wanted to take his sweet time. I remember the feeling of lying flat on my back, in pain listening to the lyrics to "Deep". Ugh.
