BEfore anyone goes on to say that it's just salad music, or something boring, I rather love the last Bent album. Some of it was truly gorgeous george ous. Now then, has anyone heard that new one yet?

I liked the last Bent alot and I'd be interested to hear something new, but what is "salad music"?

i have to listen to it all the time at work. it is rubbish. it sounds like a slightly more adventurous dido.

I thought it was pretty good. better than Everlasting Blink and nearly as good as Programmed. haven't listened enough yet to comment much on individual tracks but the one called Oscillate (Oscillation) whatever was definitely a standout. Great backing vocals and a sweet melody line.

sweet!!!! so it's good!!! salad music--nasty term for boring music. so rentboy, is it still the same sort of weird mix stuff? any more country-hop?

Everlasting Blink was fantastic, but the Amazon review says they've replaced samples with live instruments for Ariels. I'm curious yet hesitant to hear it now.

Uh oh--real instruments? nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. oh well. guess i'll wait 'til it comes out to judge. thanks guys!

The real instruments don't make much of a difference. In general the pace is slower than either of the first two records and the vocals (mostly female from what I've heard thus far) take on more of an integral role. The Dido nod wasn't completely off base, but I'd rather listen to this anyday.

Much obliged

one year passes...

So Long Without You is in my alltime Top 5. Nothing else I've heard by Bent is even close to its level :(

hope this helps (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 18:00 (sixteen years ago)

"cylons in love" has always been my go-to for Bent
