The music from The Great Escape was a fave of mine as a kid. It was one of the first times that I actually noticed how music and image could work so well together. (that and the adventures of robin hood with errol flynn:))

And Jerry Goldsmith just died a few weeks back ... I'm worried for Ennio and John Barry

that't it for now cuz those i actually had all together. made it easy. not that i have a ton more. you could go completely nuts collecting his records. kinda want to start a jerry goldsmith collection.

Thanking you, skot.

I loooove Elmer, especially from about 1955-1965. You have some real classics there, Scott, especially DRANGO, SUMMER AND SMOKE, HAWAII, ZULU DAWN and of course THE GREAT ESCAPE. You're missing the best one of all though-- TO KILL A MOCKINBGIRD. All-time greatest main title theme. (You want the stereo AVA lp for Mockingbird).

And a Jerry Goldsmith collection is urgent & key. In all honesty he might be my favorite late-20th century composer.
