Tasty, Oh Yes

Does anyone out there remember a song — I thought it was by NRBQ, but evidently it wasn’t at least not under any title I can think of—that involved the singer recounting a number of musicians who might have played for the band, who were virtuosic or handsome or whatever, but (and this was the refrain)

“he couldn’t play tasty, oh yeah; tasty, like this,”

and then one of the band members would play an allegedly tasty riff)?

I’m not claiming it’s an all-time great, but it haunts my memory of the late seventies, living in Maine, and I’d sure like to pin it down.

"Tasty" by the Good Rats. From the album "Tasty."
