hi. i rarely post new threads here, and i tend to think of music as being something more personal than social, but i feel like sharing something for the time being.
i came across this song "in time it snows" by nedelle & thom a few weeks ago, but lately it has been on repeat.
i think it's quite darling. the lyrics really register in me somewhere, and the composition is simple but not just on a surface level. soemthing about it seems to affect both my conscious and subconsious as it conjures up memories of past friends and things we used to share such as music, listening to songs together. i don't know... the song is aurally pleasing to me and also has a very visual connotation.. it also makes me get up and waltz / swing around a little. it rings true, and it makes me feel something inside. it makes me feel sorta sad and good at the same time. yadda yadda yadda. basically, it keeps playing in my head.
have any of you heard this yet?
if not, it can be found here:

some might say it plays to "twee" sensibilities, whatever that means, and why do people around here make that sound like a bad thing? but anyways i'm curious to see if anyone else has any feelings or thoughts on it.
also, has anyone heard their album "summerland" or have anything to say about nedelle & thom??

i haven't heard the whole album, but i dig the single mp3 on kill rock star's site. thom moore was my summer camp counselor many many years ago and he introduced the teenage me to a lot of great music. the moore brothers records are quite good. i think there's a new one coming out shortly. worth checking out!

five months pass...
This is odd. I've just discovered I have three tracks from her album Republic Of Two on my hard drive, added last August. I've no idea where I got them from and I don't remember ever listening to them before.
Two are nice enough but one, 'My Tendency' has got right under my skin. There's something about the weird melody that make me just want to listen to it over and over.
I need more Nedelle. And my, she's cute:

Sorry, added last June, as if that makes a difference. Maybe I'm hoping someone will pop up and say "Ah yes, I put them on my mp3 blog last June" or something.

most of the nedelle & thom album is lame, lame, lame. 'in time it snows' and 'counting shit' are nice tracks, but the rest is drab and syrupy and my word her lyrics are dodgy.

Do you know 'My Tendency', though? I need to know if you think that's lame too, so I can tell where you're coming from.

is that nedelle solo? if it's the song i'm thinking of, it's actually rather good.
