"This is Hope," by Mull Historical Society. I honestly felt nauseated listening to some of the songs on this album...I'd rather eat a slice of moldy bread slapped with a shmear of birdshit than give this one another spin. It attains new depths of soullessness.
Colin attempts to break conventions and transcend genres in several... "songs" ... but truly, I've farted better melodies than these, and have the mp3s to prove it.
There's one itsy-bitsy gasp of cutesy pop here, in track two--the single, of course. The chorus surfeits with sing-songy "da-do-das" as Colin asks no one in particular, "How 'bout I love you more?" Just a harmless little pop ditty. Or so I thought.
If you check out the official Mull Historical Society Web site, you'll see Colin's explanation of what each "song" is about... check out how he describes "How 'bout I love you more?" This is VERBATIM, folks--I am NOT making this shit up:
Inspired by Leonardo’s early drawings for flight and transport. It’s about the evolution of ideas in this field and mechanical and digital innovation and advancement; such as the measurement of time. It’s also a comment on this progress and asking “Why?” Why do we have to make planes and cars if we can die in them? Why do we have to make weapons if we can kill each other with them? Is about the relationship between man and machine. But then, fuck it! How bout I just love you more!
Okay, I've ranted enough. God damn this album sucks.

Songs in the Key of W by the George W Bush Singers is so stupid, it's more stupid than the man it mocks for being stupid.

I don't know if it's the WORST per say, but the new Good Life album is pretty damn laughable.

i think that the vice catalogue thus far has successfully disproven the notion that the road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom.

i actually like the streets 2nd lp less now than i did when it came out. didn't think it was possible, but honestly i can't *bear* listening to most of it. people went on + on + effing on about how it was 'a grower' and it's grown on *me* f-ck all.
still love 'dry your eyes' and 'blinded...' and 'fit but...'
it's just...the *appaling* rest of it.

I dunno if it's "laughably bad," but I was quite let down by the new Beastie Boys.

n.e.r.d.-fly or die. no question about that. however, more tears than laughs.
automato - automato is the runner-up, blockhead - music by cavelight is pretty bad, too.
