Are there any well known bands, past or present that don't have any internet presence?

There's a lot with a crappy internet presence.

Look at this piece of shit: http://www.thedarknessrock.com/
-- especially on an older browser.

A website is a lot of work (money), so I guess I'm not that surprised. But, band websites used to be cool. Now most of them suck.

Indian Summer:

The offical website is in Polish or something. It wasn't a different Indian Summer was it?

Indian Summer = also ab obscure emo band from the nineties from Oakland. They released split 7"s with Embassy, Ordination of Aaron and Current as well as a 3 song 7" on Repercussion. They had a song on one of those Food Not Bombs comps too.

what about bands with awesome interent presence? not just a flashy site but something actually cool or useful or unique about a bands site?

Supergrass wins for actually running their own site for quite a number of years...

I'm told Darkthrone don't have a web page, although they obviously have a strong web presence on metal sites.

Personally, I like Ween's website more than I like any of their actual albums. I especially like the Pizza Hut song (which is so earwormingly catchy I'm surprised moveon.org hasn't bought and reworked it to be about Osama, WMDs, Saddam, etc.,) the page where they exalt The Masters (who include Traci Lords, Stanley Kubrick, and Sly Stone: "There have been many rumored comebacks, and many rumors in general regarding Sly's whereabouts and condition, but I truly believe that he may be the one person on the planet that could return and save music singlehandedly. Maybe he knows this himself and it scares him, i dunno."), and the most of all the festive central interface (sorry, Flash only).
