"New wave complex"? RFI / S&D / C-D

I'm curious about this : I've seen this "new wave complex" comps on soulseek, they're some kind of "messthetics" but with obscure/forgotten (and some classic) electro-new wave outfits (fiat lux, visage, cybotron, minny pops, etc), does anybody know something about them? i.e. who compiles them, if they exist "physically" or just in p2p networks, etc...A search on google returns vitually nothing

I don't know what you searched for on Google, but New Wave Complex seems to be a website, so maybe they'd know.

there's also shockwaves v 1 -9 , return of flexi-pop and i'm sure there are a few others doing the rounds too. all have some good and not so good

I too seem to have hit a brick wall in determining what the specs are re: this compilation series. I've found one webpage that just has a track listing of one of the volumes of the comp, another (from a mailing list archive site) that, just as you are, is pleading for information about this very compilation series, and a Spanish-language page that also just carries a track listing.

I even went over to the New Wave Outpost site to see if maybe the comp series was listed, but it isn't. Still, I think you should contact the owner of that site about your findings, since he has a strong interest in "obscure New Wave" and so he might be able to find out some information from you.

(BTW, once you get that information, could you post it up on this thread? Please? I too am extremely interested in this, esp since I have a weakness for "obscure New Wave". And since you mentioned Visage up above.)

nine months pass...

any progress on determining just what the deal is with these comps? i've downloaded some tracks from a few of them and i generally like what i hear, and "poupee flash" by 1ere classe is quite possibly one of the greatest songs i've heard in my life, so i'm v intrigued to know more

Info here....you can get the track listings in a more digestible format than cruising the blogs. Then you can search for artists or tracks on Spotify, emusic, Amazon, wherever your usual haunt is.
