Haven't pulled out this old Deconstruction comp for a while, but what a great job they did of this... disc 1 is so awesome - perfect tracklisting, perfect mixing, the sound quality suffers a bit from some obviously time-tested vinyl transfers, but even in headphones it's perfectly listenable, especially the dirty talk -> confusion/sunshine
and peech boys -> gwen guthrie transitions. and the whole dirty italo electro to chicago acid transformation is really brilliant.

anyone else pick this up somewhere along the way? definitely worth seeking out

What makes this set stand out for me: unlike most mix CDs linked with clubs, this one contains the stuff which they actually used to play, without having it all fed through some sort of retrospective-cool-filter. CD1 in particular tells the story as it was... none of this 1988 Year Zero nonsense here, thank goodness.

Ooooh, I have to break mine out - the first two discs are really amazing, but my outer sleeve fell apart. The design is really excellent as are the extensive liner notes.
