After an hour with three of us trying constantly by 'phone and through the website we finally managed to get 2 tickets - 3 rows from the back of the balcony and (if I'm reading the seating plan right) an aisle in between my girlfriend and myself (!).
Still, at least we're going.
Anyone else had any luck?

I could arrange my trip to Atlanta around his date, but I don't know if I really want to. I've seen him before, and it wasn't worth close to $100 in the least. That's not to say it was bad, however.

Tix really gonna run me $100 for this??
― stephen, Monday, 5 May 2008 22:35 (eighteen years ago)
The only show I've seen tickets for so far is Columbus and that's $82.50, but the service charges are going to be at least $12 or so.

I'm thinking about going to Houston, fucking expensive but it's his first Texas shows since '82 or so, and he's not likely to come here again at that rate. Anyone else catching the tour?

Tickets on sale this Friday btw...
So the Houston show was EXCELLENT, very glad I went. Band was pretty good, Tom himself was great fun, lots of banter, talking back to hecklers, great showmanship; the guy was clearly having fun, and knows how to put on a killer show. Songs played included (personal highlights bolded):
Tom Traubert's Blues (from Small Change) Cemetery Polka (from Rain Dogs) Innocent When You Dream, Way Down in the Hole (from Franks Wild Years) Falling Down (from Big Time) Dirt in the Ground, Jesus Gonna Be Here, Goin Out West, Murder in the Red Barn (from Bone Machine) Get Behind the Mule, House Where Nobody Lives, Eyeball Kid, Come On Up to the House (from Mule Variations) Hoist That Rag, Trampled Rose, Make It Rain, Day After Tomorrow (from Real Gone) Lie to Me, Lucinda (from Orphans)
...and four or five others that I'm forgetting right now. Great fuckin show, see him while you can!

Totally dug it tonight. Amazing, and totally deserving of the first gig I've been to in almost a year.
