So, I am DJing a show on halloween and I want to start compiling my set list. Any classic halloween jams/songs that have been going over well lately I should be thinking about?? I am particularly interested in Halloween songs that do NOT have the world halloween in the title, but are goblin-themed etc.

The guy from Arab Strap did a sort of techno remix of the theme song to the film "Halloween" under the name Ben Tramer. It's pretty fun.

Without a doubt, MX-80's "Theme From 'Halloween'".

Best halloween song of all time is "Till the Following Night" (aka "Long Black Coffin", I think) by Screaming Lord Sutch. Begins with a long intro of chains rattling, screaming, howling wind etc, produced by Joe Meek.

Don't Fear The Reaper, Monster Mash, Bad Moon Rising, etc. must all be avoided at ANY cost.

Pick up some Skinny Puppy albums post-haste (particularly _Bites_ for "The Choke" and _Too Dark Park_ for "Tormentor"). Also keep My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult in mind (esp. "Nervous Xians", "...And This Is What The Devil Does", "Do You Fear (For Your Child?)", "Kooler Than Jesus" and "The Days Of Swine And Roses") and certain Siouxsie and the Banshees songs (I'm thinking particularly of "Halloween" and "Candyman").

Unless it's "Monster Mash" with selected bits of commentary from Dr. Retarded thrown in.

Quite obvious, but Michael Jackson's "Thriller" will have to end this set.

You could do the ironic thing and play safe, sugary pop music.
