Basically, I am really digging this album. I was surprised there wasn't already a thread about it. Print's beats are definitely fresh, the lyrics are tight for the most part, and the delivery is spot-on. It's been said before that this isn't exactly genre-redefining stuff, but this is nothing more or less than a very solid, well executed hip-hop album.

This review is just worthless from start to finish. It's like Brent DiCrescenzo's Tool review except not nearly as funny - he clearly had his mind made up to do this brilliant concept review long before he ever gave the album its first and only spin.
I mean, read this nonsense. The whole concept would work a little better if the album was as formulaic as he's making out to be. If you totally disregard the music itself and snip a few lyrics out of context, it's simple to write a cynical review in this format about any album, ever. And some of the smug tossed-off remarks just make no sense, like they're trying to be critical without even making a point. Consider:
5) "Celestial Clockwork"
Remember to make your title track one of the highlights. Make sure it sounds typical of the rest of the album and posit it as a good introduction to your skill.
Wow, you're right, how predictable and typical of indie hip-hop! Because we all know making the title track forgettable and out of place is the mark of any artist with a shred of originality. Gotta break that mold at every turn, otherwise it's worthless, right ace? He might as well have brought up points about how the music is sold in CD format, or how the lyrics rhyme. Hey look, the cover art relates to the album title, deduct another point!
Mysteriously, the author then goes on to completely ignore the strongest track on the album, "Stand". But the little disclaimer at the end is the most damning part of all - the review is weak, the author knows it, and in the most hilariously defensive critical posturing I've seen in a long time, he lets you know he knows it. How did this get published?
