When Eminem beats out Rakim as the greatest rapper of all time something is wrong in this world.

Velveteen Bingo (Chris V), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I would like to add BOSS MC to my list.

HEY BUDDIES MA$E IS A REALLY BAD RAPPER LOL!!!!111

scg, Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I like Mase....Now, like everybody else too (post-Breathe), I'm feeling dumb for sleeping on Fabolus....Now everytime I hear a Fab old song I'm realizing that he was always pretty great, I just didn't hear it for some reason.....I wrote him off as a Mase copycat for some reason, but that's not really that accurate, Fab's more complexly written than Mase....his verses are really as ornate as any indie "vocabulary abuser" rapper but his style is so laid back that I kinda missed it....

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:14 (twenty-one years ago)

M@TT, you've actually heard Rodney O & Joe Cooley? NEAT.

The greatest rapper in my opinion is Erick Sermon circa the first EPMD record.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Fabolus has done lots of boring shitty songs."Holla Back" and "Breathe" being exceptions. (I don't even like Breathe as much as everyone else)

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

what is scg on about incidently.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 16:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I should clarify: I meant to say that I quite like Fabolus' rapping and always have, I just don't think he's released many good songs.

djdee2005 (djdee2005), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

M@TT, you've actually heard Rodney O & Joe Cooley? NEAT

i have a cassette tape somewhere at my mom's house...it was called "Fuck New York" I think??...they got tangentally involved with Tim Dog's Fuck Compton beef a little bit right after penicillen on wax came out....Haven't actually heard it for years, and may have lost it altogether or mom threw it out.....I doubt you're missing much....

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, the only tape I heard was about 15-16 years ago. I totally forgot the name of it, and I actually only the songs "Cooley High" and "Everlasting Bass". Funny stuff. I just posted their name a week or two ago on the obscure 80s-90s hip hop artists thread.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 16:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I think I heard Everlasting Bass on some old K-Tel type cheapie rap cassette back when....that was their "hit" I think....

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I really miss the MC from Nine. Why hasn't "Cloud Nine" been re-released yet?

Chuck D will always be the voice of rap for me. It was like hearing a sermon for each new track.

jay blanchard (jay blanchard), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

MF DOOM, best current rapper..hands down, or hands UP

ima say it, Wednesday, 27 October 2004 19:31 (twenty-one years ago)
