and you were earning more money doing that than at your day job.
What a dillema!
How could you go on after that?

How about being in Wings?

Lock thread.

You've got it easy. I'm trying to put together a Peter Brotzmann Machine Gun tribute group at the moment.

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 27 October 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

You could call it Jet!

Oops, that's taken.

I'm not going to imagine that - I want to be able to get to sleep without the lights on.

How about being in Wings?

Then you probably wouldn't be earning more than in your day job. I know a guy who turned down an offer to replace Jimmy McCullough, partly because the retainer was only 40 quid a week.

frankiemachine, Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

So just think how little someone would have been paid to replace Linda McCartney!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

b-b-but i like wings!

JaXoN (JasonD), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought this was going to be about the sitcom. Wouldn't it be great if there were sitcom tribute bands who travelled from town to town re-enacting episodes of departed sitcoms?

If you don't think it would be great, would it be at least as great as a Wings tribute band?

Guayaquil, Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i think a sitcom tribute group would be the coolest thing in the entire world

JaXoN (JasonD), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

who of us would vote to be denny?

then there's the lagos airport drama, mindyou if you were our henry you would have quit immediately prior to that.

"y fancy a birra rocknroll?"

piscesboy, Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

'magneto and titanium men' - there's your name.

piscesboy, Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:40 (twenty-one years ago)

We might be making more money than at our day jobs, but tribute bands might find Marvel Comics a little better armed then they are...
