Yeah, I've seen one of those and it's beautiful. I can't find a picture of one, but Faust would be my nominee.

i so wanted that one that was on ebay like 2 weeks ago, but it ended up selling for like 50 bucks or something horrible like that. add in int'l shipping, and its just retarded.

peter smith (plsmith), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

oooooh - faust is a very good one, taking the whole package into account. isnt the vinyl just clear, though? not a picture, per se?

peter smith (plsmith), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow, the a rainbow in curved air one is fantastic, Jon.

Other cool ones on the Qbico label, but that Riley can't be topped.

They're both very cool too.

I have this one, which I'm quite fond of

A little image, but it's only a 7"...
I also have a few Iron Maiden ones, but you can imagine what they're like.

i can't find a pic of it. but the one for World Of Twist's "Sons Of The Stage" is great - they've all had their naughty bits airbrushed away

rentboy (rentboy), Wednesday, 27 October 2004 18:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Again, can't find a good picture, but Queen's Jazz is pretty mind-blowing.

Some of the Vogue picture records from the 40s are very beautiful:

Can't find images online, but Melvins' "Trilogy" has three pictures discs, each one in provocative binary: cross/pentagram, Star of David/Nazi Swastika, Black Panther/White Power. Fun to flip when out djing ... or not.

I has the dubious pleasure of meeting the self styled "Prince Of The Picture Disc" several years ago...

http://www.prince-picturedisc.com

his website has some strange pictures... he's also published (a v expensive) book with colour reproductions of his massive collection..

Wow, that Manowar one must win the award for the gayest looking picture disc. Perhaps someone should put goatse.cx on one.

1983 bootleg of David Bowie's 'Serious Moonlight' tour, because it has his sexy visage on it.

The Timelords - Doctorin' The Tardis 7" is a beautiful object, in the shape of a police car.

Also, is it a Bardot (God Created Woman???) album with the lady herself on the record, looking rather, um, provocative? Don't have it, can't remember very well.

eleven months pass...

Just got a Black Sabbath 'Heaven and Hell' p/d last night. Side 1 has the angel artwork and side 2 has the pencil drawing. Anyone know of the best way to hang this sucker on the wall? It's just in a thick plastic sleeve at the moment.

eight years pass...

does anyone make these things nowadays, what with the 'vinyl revival' and everything? do they even have the means to make them anymore?

I always liked the ones OMD did for 'Telegraph', and particularly the train-shaped one for 'Locomotion' ...
