I think they took too long a break or something. Up through Big Bam Boom in 1984 they were still fairly omnipresent, the following year was the live album with Ruffin and Kendricks while Paul Young had an American hit with "Every Time You Go Away" -- then in 1986 Hall did the solo album with the weird long name and the "Dreamtime" song, which got some MTV airplay and I think that was it. Oo Yeah! was the 'reunion' album of sorts in 1988 and I recall the lead single briefly getting some airplay and MTV screening but I think they were just a little and then by implication a lot out of sync at that point.
