I like "The Bucket" - simple but pretty damned catchy.

Clusterfuck at the Baja Fresh Salsa Bar (Ben Boyer), Friday, 29 October 2004 21:45 (twenty-one years ago)

i cant help think that the 10/10 and 5/5 reviews are cos theres nothing else and theres a lot of $$$$$$$ being flung behind them. that said, i actually liked a few songs on the first one - this could be good. i think we write artists/bands off way too early these days.

splooge (thesplooge), Friday, 29 October 2004 22:05 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd like to remind everyone, for the record, that I was trumpeting teh first album when everyone else was slagging it off

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Friday, 29 October 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

..but I didn't think it WAS going to be awful. Did you?

hobart paving (hobart paving), Friday, 29 October 2004 22:26 (twenty-one years ago)

ive now heard it. it's bollocks.

piscesboy, Friday, 29 October 2004 22:46 (twenty-one years ago)

don't know / don't care

57 7th (calstars), Friday, 29 October 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

do they have any fans in the usa?

keith m (keithmcl), Friday, 29 October 2004 23:41 (twenty-one years ago)

If, by fans, you mean people in Tennessee who endlessly make jokes at the band's expense, then yes... there are thousands upon thousands!

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Saturday, 30 October 2004 00:04 (twenty-one years ago)

it's sstrange because I know KOL get a lot of hype vbut I don'rt know many people who actually listen to them.

ps I'm drunk

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Saturday, 30 October 2004 00:08 (twenty-one years ago)

They suck shit.

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 30 October 2004 00:55 (twenty-one years ago)

oh and I'm working on getting drunk. And I was blitzed when I heckled the hell out of them.

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 30 October 2004 00:56 (twenty-one years ago)

see the problem with the strokes was that they were catchy and didn't say words like "purty"

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 30 October 2004 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

i would be ok with the kings of leon if they dressed in confederate uniforms.

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 30 October 2004 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

me too

theyre like the strokes with beards, except theyve now shaved the beards, so they look like another lot of pretty boys with one extra beardo in the band.

splooge (thesplooge), Saturday, 30 October 2004 08:48 (twenty-one years ago)

And you guys slag Jet off!!!! Tut-tut!

herbalizer12 (herbalizer12), Saturday, 30 October 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

jet are way shitter than KOL though.

splooge (thesplooge), Saturday, 30 October 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Jet have way better up-tempo singles. Oh and they actually ape old-school rock bands SONICALLY rather than just grooming their moustaches ("Cold Hard Bitch" is a good AC/DC wanna-be). There's a reason they have these things called hits and KOL don't.

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Saturday, 30 October 2004 17:13 (twenty-one years ago)

are you gonna go my way is like lust for life stripped of all its balls and actual 'rockiness' and made into a twee 'my first guitar' free giveaway disc demo. id rather bands LOOKED like old ones than sounded like them.

splooge (thesplooge), Saturday, 30 October 2004 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Who needs to ever hear Jet? Life's too short, I've heard it all before and done far better.

Riot Gear! (Gear!), Saturday, 30 October 2004 17:59 (twenty-one years ago)

the bucket is so bad i can't even iunderstand why it's been considered worth rehearsing in the first place (being a songwriter myself, i often wonder why some songs were considered good enough by their creator to play them to the other members of a band).
there were a couple of songs i found ok on the first one.

AleXTC (AleXTC), Saturday, 30 October 2004 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah they had some good ones on the first album, just a lot of undistinguishable ones too.

splooge (thesplooge), Sunday, 31 October 2004 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the first record. It's "fun" to listen to. "Molly's Chambers" and "California Waiting" are both good songs. Just don't take 'em too serious like.

Nancy Boy (scottkundla), Sunday, 31 October 2004 17:59 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
don't mind it really. i like "milk"

Big Baby Bingo (Chris V), Thursday, 2 December 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

smelliest band of all time

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 2 December 2004 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i would imagine so.
