One thing you can give Scott Herren credit for, he's never predictable. I loved the first Prefuse 73 (in my more excited moments called it "Genius"), and on the basis of that picked up Delarosa & Asora -- Crush the Sightseers. I liked it, but not at all what I expected -- a subtle, quiet, glitchy suite of sorts. Then One Word Extinguisher was a disappointment, a bit too all-over-the-place. An album that probably needed to have about 10 fewer tracks. Then the outtakes came out and some of the material was better than anything on the album. Then S+S's Apropa't, which is ok but sounds a bit too much like boring worldbeat music. Now I've just gotten Manana, and on my first couple listens I'm still a bit baffled. Seems like he's sort of taking his Prefuse/D+A glitch-hop approach and applying his techniques to the airy beach music of Apropa't. But I'm really not sure what to make of it -- can't yet say I like or don't like it. Thoughts?
