i was in a club last night and heard a disco track that sounded just like peaches' song 'set it off'
does anyone know what this original song is, it's much better than peaches' version

Having not heard Peaches' version as yet, this cover could well be Harlequin 4's or Strafe's version from the mid-eighties.

Does she repeat the actual title line regularly, as "Set It Off" was quite a big underground club track in the 80's which had been sampled much by dance/deejays during the rise of acid-house in 1988/89. Todd terry specifically.

I think it's Strife "Set it Off".

And yes, it's infinitely better than the Peaches one.
