When I was in college I remember hearing a track on the radio of Elvis laughing his way through "Love Me Tender". Apparently he was on some pills and had accidently knocked an audience member's toupe off?

Does anybody know what this is? Or if it's available? Or if it even exists?

I have a copy. It was on "Said the Gramophone" about five months ago. Drop me a line and I'll drop it to you.

There's also a hard-to-listen-to, sadly revealing, chemical-induced monologue during 'Are You Lonesome Tonight?' from the 'This is Elvis' s/t.

That version of "Love Me Tender" (and "Are You Lonesome") are two of the saddest things I've ever listened to.

Now, "Hot Damn Tamele", on the other hand, is a load of fun.

I didn't realise the "Famous Laughing Version" of Are You Lonesome Tonight was sad. That version maks me piss myself when I hear it "Do you gaze at your bald head and wish you had hair?" etc

it's sad when you watch it

I remember Bruno Brookes had this theory that it was actually the hilariously over-the-top singing of that female backing singer that set him off!!!!!
