they have a new album that just came out i'm listening to it right now. it's real low key and pretty. if it got popular a lot of people would like it and a lot of people would hate them.

it's sort of like, well, all kinds of mostly folky indie stuff that they use in sweater commercials, but this seems better for some reason. i guess camera obscura asked about them from stage when they played mpls and that makes sense.

That's kind of like saying Low could use some more good-time jamboree breakdowns or something. Give it another listen, the Owls take a few spins to really sink in, then they're addictive.

basically they write good songs and seem like nice folks so i hope they get big enough to become ILM indie whipping boys (and girls) someday like the shins or arcade fire.
