Even in a year when R. Kelly released three full length albums' worth of material, the single most WTF moment of 2004 is Madeleine Peyroux's cover of Elliott Smith's "Between The Bars." I didn't notice it in the tracklisting the first time I listened to the album and couldn't believe what was coming out of my stereo when when it came on.

I like the 1st quite a bit. The new one seems like it loses whatever edge some of those patsy cline, bessie smith ballads had.
