B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

ALL YOU PEOPLE HATIN' ON HELLO NASTY MEET ME OUTSIDE MEET ME OUTSIDE

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 11:06 (twenty-one years ago)

this song makes me think of the cherry tavern in nyc and its lovely $4 tequila and tecate special. the jukebox there has no bass, like literally none whatsoever, but that didn't stop us from playing it over and over and over again.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

it's a good song. i like the song capelton recorded using the same music.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

rockist that i am, i feel compelled to point out that the Album this is from "and then there was x..." is full of similar delights, and is my 2nd favourite hip-hop album. search also: dmx's heavy metal album "the great depression".

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 13:19 (twenty-one years ago)

HELL! I AIN'T GONNA ANSWER YOU IF U R GONNA KEEP SHOUTING OUT ME, CUZ!!!

herbalizer12 (herbalizer12), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I owned all of his albums, at one point.

David Allen (David Allen), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

This song is beyond classic.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Absolutely slammin', as they used to say. Ace video, too (in which DMX steps into a bank, post-holdup, and is mistaken for the thief despite helping the staff and patrons recover from the robbery).

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

You wack, you twisted, your girl's a ho
You broke, the kid ain't your's, and e'ybody know
Your old man say you stupid, you be like "So?
I love my babymomma, I never let her go

Classic.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

it's about his 6th best single.

Al (sitcom), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 16:37 (twenty-one years ago)

DMX's heavy metal album!

adam... (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

it's about his 6th best single.

Alright, I'm going to watch the other DMX videos on launch later today, as I know only two or three of his songs by name. If none of them make me shit rainbows like this one does, I'll assume you lie.

miccio (miccio), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 16:48 (twenty-one years ago)

DMX is a flawless singles artist.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Get At Me Dog, Stop Being Greedy, How's It Goin' Down, Ruff Ryder's Anthem, Slippin', What These Bitches Want, What's My Name, We Right Here, Who We Be, I Miss You, X Gon' Give It To Ya, Where The Hood At, Get It On The Floor!!!!!!!!!!!

Al (sitcom), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 17:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i have a 12'' of party up (the dance remixes)

artdamages (artdamages), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

DMX is a flawless singles artist.

yes, although i don't know if i could handle listening to all of them right in a row. i suppose he does have a few introspective non-bangers.

artdamages (artdamages), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 17:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Def Jam is really sleeping on the opportunity to release a Greatest Hits. I mean, he didn't 'retire' with nearly as high a profile as Jay-Z did, but he still had an amazing run.

Al (sitcom), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 17:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I just turned on the radio and "Party Up" was on! Anthony is a conjurer!

Al (sitcom), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

"Get At Me Dog, Stop Being Greedy, How's It Goin' Down, Ruff Ryder's Anthem, Slippin', What These Bitches Want, What's My Name, We Right Here, Who We Be, I Miss You, X Gon' Give It To Ya, Where The Hood At, Get It On The Floor!!!!!!!!!!!"

All are good, yes, but I'm afraid old Anthony is, ahem, right. "Party Up" is by far his best single... totally flawless.

Chuckling at the Tomkat's Marquee (Ben Boyer), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

yup adam, i find that "the great depression" works best when i think of it as a heavy metal album.

miccio i *urge* you to buy "and then there was x..." - it has everything. great melancholy ballads, a handful of club bangers like this one, some ace swizz beats productions, cool guilt-wracked lyrics.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 24 November 2004 23:12 (twenty-one years ago)

and the prayer!
